2007-2008 Competitive Schedule

ALL CURRENT USA GYMNASTICS RULES AND POLICIES (R & P) must be followed for sanctioned competitive events. For more information, visit www.usa-gymnastics.org.

Declaration Date

North Carolina USA Gymnastics State Administrative Committee does not require a sectional to qualify for any State Meet. A qualifying meet needs only be sanctioned and follows the
Rules and Policies.

Therefore this is an explanation of a “Declaration Date” in R & P, Section I Eligibility, C., Dropping Back through the Levels, #1.

When contemplating a new level, a gymnast is allowed to compete to levels, at will, before a State Meet. However, the gymnast must be qualified at the level of the State Meet she enters by the Declaration Date.

For example: A gymnast qualifies for the level 5 State in October, but competes as a level 6 in November and qualifies for the level 6 State Meet. If she decides that she wants to compete in the level 5 State Meet, she needs to re-qualify as a level 5 by the Declaration Date.

Coach Information

Coaches are reminded to please wear credentials on competitive floor. The NC USA Gymnastics will provide a clip-on, retractable badge holder. These will be delivered at the Compulsory Judges Cup or mailed to those not attending.

Awards Recommendation

USA Gymnastics provides minimum guidelines for presenting individual awards in the annual Rules and Policies (R & P) Handbook, usually in the Section titled Jr. Olympic Awards.

NC USA Gymnastics augments the suggested number of awards at the State Meets by presenting medals and plaques only, extending awards to about one-half of the gymnasts in each age group. The age groups are encouraged to be set at a maximum of 30 gymnasts. (03-16-2005)

All PERSONNEL on the competitive floor should have a current professional membership card visibly displayed – including the current Safety Certification date. It is the meet directors’ responsibility to verify current Professional memberships.

All COACHES are reminded that the non-competing gymnasts and young children should not be on the competitive floor as spectators – for safety reason.
