Re: Nominations for open NC-USAG board position

Happy New Year to all of us who love gymnastics in North Carolina!

Do you have days where everything you had planned have to be re-planned?  Today was one for me....and Jack's been having a couple like that also.  I just got an e-mail from him and it looks like the website is back up. I just had a Hughes satellite dish put in our yard to bring faster connectivity to the backwaters of Pamlico County.  It's in and my husband's computer is working fine, but mine isn't able to connect yet.

So still in the dial-up mode:

I would like to place 5 names before you who are interested in serving gymnastics in North Carolina by being elected to the NC-USAG Board, finishing Danny Davis' term.  Each is a professional member in good standing.  Each would provide unique attributes to the gymnastics community.

Please make a choice and e-mail to rhonda.roberts@arapahoe.charter.k12.nc.us  with your vote and professional membership number.  Rhonda is the secretary at school, and she did a great job of sorting votes during the last election.  You may also fax your vote to 252-249-1316, the fax at school....but please do not use both methods to vote.  I will ask Rhonda to reply to each vote received by saying "Vote Received".

The last day to vote will be Monday, January 7, 2008.  We will post the winner on Tuesday. Our Board meeting will be on Saturday evening in Charlotte @ International Gymnastics, site of the Judges' Cup Meet.

The nominees are as follows:

Vicki Hahn Vicki owns and coaches at Hahn's Gymnastics in Asheville.  She was willing to work with Danny's gym and team in Shelby in order to help him take advantage of this fast career change.  Her e-mail address is     hahn'sgymnastics@hotmail.com. in case you'd like to correspond with her
Emily Kite Emily coaches at High Flight Gymnastics in Asheville.  April Makinson recommends her quality of purpose when hosting gymnastics meets.  She applauds Emily's organizational skills as demonstrated by the success of her meet held in an outside facility as well as the efficient use of her parents organization.  She may be reached at                    emily@highflightgym.com
Krystal Kramer Krystal owns and coaches at Superior Gymnastics in Morrisville, outside of Raleigh/Cary.  She works with gymnasts from all levels - recreational to Elite.  Krystal has indicated her interest in serving NC's gymnastics community, specifically by getting out there to help improve gymnastics in the state.  You might reach Krystal at krystal_superiorgym@yahoo.com
Paul McAloon Paul returned to North Carolina in 2007 after having been away in Florida and Texas for a while (20+ years).  He coaches at Langley Gymnastics in Angier.  Kenny Morphis emphasizes that Paul would bring a tremendous amount of knowledge to the Board.  He reminds the state that Paul was NC's first State Chair.  He has coached athletes from pre-school to Elite and has extensive business experience in the world of gymnastics.  He could be reached at pmcal88300@aol.com.
Jack Panyakone Jack has served North Carolina gymnastics as the web master for the last 5 years.  Jack coaches at Langley Gymnastics in Angier.  While Jack is willing to continue serving in the communication end of NC gymnastics.  He has indicated an interest in helping with the decision making segment of the state's work.  Jack may be reached at panyakone@charter.net.

Thank you all for your patience.
