order by State Administrative Committee Chairman Jennie Adams at 12:14
pm.
Present :
Darlene Rose, Kristie Phillips, Sarah Myers, Paul McAloon, Terri Costa,
Mary Hoagland, Kenny Morphis, and Jennie Adams
Discussion about format and dates of state meets for 2008-09 season:

Recommendation to keep Levels 5 and 6 together on the weekend of
December 5-7, 2008 and to keep Level 4 separate on the weekend of
December 12-14, 2008.

Recommendation to keep Levels 7, 8, 9 and 10 together on the weekend of
March 27-29, 2009.

Discussion about
size of prep levels and the format and schedules of the prep opt state
meets: Are there too many gymnasts to put the prep opt state meets
together in one weekend? If there is a need to have two separate meets,
can the meets be split before and after the Level 7-10 state meet? Can
we move these meets into May to avoid conflict with other meets, or does
this make the season too long. The issue was tabled until the prep opt
coaches can be surveyed.

(After coaches were surveyed at both Prep State Meets, large majority
requested that the qualifying scores not be raised in order to reduce
the number of gymnasts at State Meet, therefore maintaining the need to
have two State Meets. (note – slightly more than 500 gymnasts competed
in 08 Prep State Meets)

USAG Board will recommend two 2009 weekend dates. Possibilities will
be:

March 21-22
(before 7-10 States,

April 4-5,
weekend after 7-10 State, or
-
May 2-3
Discussion on
refund policy for state meets:

Recommendation that only professional members be allowed to contact meet
directors.
(ie. refund requests, scheduling conflicts, procedural problems,
age-group changes, etc.)

Recommendation that no refunds for individual gymnasts or teams will be
given for state meets once the deadline for registration has passed.

the no refund policy should be published in meet information.

refunds may be issued at meet director’s discretion prior to deadline
for meet registration.
Discussion that
meet directors should state length of vault runway in meet information.

items for JO Survey to be posted on website.

Discussion about state clinic to be held August 8-10, 2008 at Salem
Gymnastics in Winston-Salem..
K Morphis will
handle physical set-up and food.
J Adams will
handle sanction, handouts, and publicity.
Discussion of
possible clinicians. Presenters will be contacted by members of Board.
Outside presenter suggested – Marian Dykes. (contacted and agreed to be
clinician on Saturday.)

be June 1 in Burlington in early afternoon.
